About Implementation Day

By implementation day, the member leader, his/her voluntary turf team, and the course staff will be fully trained on the GreenFix Ball Mark Elimination System. Here is a suggested schedule of events to achieve a successful implementation day:

Mark The Spots

Several hours before everyone arrives for the event, the member leader, the voluntary turf team, and the superintendent should perform a very important task. After finding the green on the course that has the biggest ball mark problem, the group should mark every dead brown spot or ball mark they find on that green with an irrigation flag. Afterwards, these flags should be counted, documented, and several pictures should be taken. This information will be vital as the program progresses. At 30, 60, and 90 days after implementation the same task should be performed. These counts will be documented on the progress charts we provide and one should be left by the green where the count took place and the other in the clubhouse. Once members see the drastic reduction in ball marks, you will see a "culture change" and everyone will be using the system.

Introduce The GreenFix Ball Mark Program

The event should begin with the member leader, the voluntary turf team, and superintendent introducing the program. Explain to your members the benefits of the system and why old fashioned divot tools should be banned. Feel free to answer any questions or concerns that may come up at this point to get them out of the way.

Demonstrate The GreenFix System

Next, a demonstration should take place. First, show the members the old technique using the old fashioned divot tool. Then, repair a ball mark the proper way using the GreenFix technique and Wizard. Explain the difference between the two with the biggest one being that the old fashioned divot tool has prongs that are too long and damage the roots and kill the grass on the very greens they play on.

Let The Members Participate

Supply each member with a couple tools and flyers (the flyers are very important as they remind the members of the new technique). Encourage all the attendees to repair some ball marks at this point and correct anyone repairing them the wrong way. You will be amazed at the positive response you receive, it is almost like kids in a candy store.

Get Members To Participate

After the repair clinic has ended, encourage members to help place the signage we provide you at different places on the course, the carts, and in the clubhouse. It gives them a sense of ownership and ensures participation.

What Next?

Most of the clubs using our system have informed us that ending the implementation day with cocktails or dinner has been very advantageous. Everyone fully understands the system, they are looking forward to better quality greens, and they can unwind and just enjoy themselves.
