What do you mean when you talk about a system?
A system is “a collection of components and a process to accomplish a specific objective.” The GreenFix Ball Mark Elimination System combines a totally new divot tool . . a new divot repair technique. . . taught in an organized training program . . . using a pre-packaged kit of training and reminder materials. This process is led by the members, and requires that old-fashioned tools and harmful techniques be prohibited on that golf course. Those are the components of the Ball Mark Elimination System.
How fast will ball marks disappear?
Based on the Kansas State University research studies and evidence from golf writers and USGA Turf Advisors, most courses should be able to drastically reduce their Ball Marks within 90 days. However, if only 50% of your players attempt to fix the Ball Marks they make, and only half of those use the correct method , you could still be left with 75% of your Ball Marks.
For real progress, you need the majority of your players fixing AND everyone fixing correctly. To do that, you need a strong partnership between club management and member leadership along with stronger appreciation, commitment, action and discipline on the part of all members and guests using your course. It's necessary for the health of your course, for the Good Of The Game Of Golf, and to keep your course reputation and your equity investment at the highest levels possible.
How much does the Greenfix Ball Mark Elimination System cost?
Our turn key system has been proven to dramatically reduce the ball mark count (an average reduction of 70 percent!) on your greens. Top courses around the country have provided GreenFix with great feedback over the years on how to perfect our system. Every course needs a ball mark repair tool is simpler to use and safer for the greens, and a training and educational program so that they understand the reasons why change is necessary to improve their greens. Once they understand, long tonged tools damage greens, short tonged tools and a pushing method are safer and much more effective, they won’t go back to the old traditional tools.
Our proven system will ensure all players not only repair ball marks but that they repair them correctly. Instructional flyers, cart signs, course signage, DVD loops, implementation guides make adopting this system effortless. Please visit the Buy Now/Golf Courses page to view current system pricing and reorder pricing.
Is there an extra charge for putting our logo on the wizard tool?
No, your course logo is added FREE into the Wizard tool.
Does the system also work at a resort course or public course?
Yes, and it works just as well at eliminating ball marks. The Men’s and Ladies Clubs help lead the adoption with regular players. Course newsletters and mailings get the word out. The cart line and pro shop 15-second demonstrations are critical along with the reminder and cart signs around the greens and the 1st and 10th tees. A full display of Wizard tools for sale at the counter with How-To Instruction Flyers helps begin the discussion.
Does the system work as well on bermuda grass versus bent grass? As well on deep gnarly ball marks as it does on shallow craters?
While bent grass greens and modern turf grasses show ball marks to a greater extent, Bermuda grass greens still harbor ball mark craters and need to be repaired. In every case, gnarly deep craters or Bermuda green ball marks will recover and heal faster with the GreenFix Wizard than they will with the traditional divot tool and technique. ANY DIGGING, LIFTING OR TWISTING OF ANY TURF PLANT WILL KILL THE TURF! Because of its patented design, The GreenFix Wizard only allows you to PUSH the walls of the ball mark crater back to the center. The turf plant is still alive, and smooth enough for following players to putt over. On the deep fat ball marks make two circles of pushing. First start about one half inch from the edge of the crater and push North, South, East and West as aggressively as the turf will allow. Then make another circle pushing right on the edge of the crater walls, N,S,E and W. This method should allow for the entire hole to be covered. Always tap down firmly. This method will produce the best possible results in these difficult circumstances. It sounds complicated, but with a little practice, you can fix these marks efficiently and effectively!
Why do we have to ban all other traditional divot tools?
Old fashioned divot tools used the way most golfers use them create thousands of ugly dead brown spots every week on the greens of golf courses around the world. Live turf won’t cover those dead spots until 6-12 weeks later according to studies done by both Kansas State and Rutgers University. This culture change is similar to the prohibition of metal spikes and replacement with alternative spikes. Once players use the new methods and see the positive changes in their putting surfaces, no one wants to go back.
We've tried to get our members to fix ball marks in the past and they just don't. What's different about this system?
