How The System Works

ANNOUNCE THE KICKOFF OF THE GREENFIX BALL MARK ELIMINATION PROGRAM

Send an individual letter or use the monthly newsletter to announce the program. “We are going to adopt a new ball mark repair tool and program that courses all across the country are implementing to dramatically improve their putting surfaces. We will kick off this program at a special demonstration, cookout and tournament on such and such a date. We want everyone to participate, so come out and get your free GreenFix Wizard tool, a demonstration from our staff and let’s make our greens this year the best they have ever been”!

SELECT A MEMBER LEADER

Have your golf professional or green committee, select a member leader or two to drive the program and be responsible for putting up the inside posters and outdoor signs to remind all members and players of the change the course has made. Each course also receives, included in the program, cart signs and loop CD’s to play in the locker rooms and pro shop to remind players of how to use the new tools correctly. Each player must see a demonstration. Even though the tools are very simple to use and the pushing method easy to master, it is completely different.

MEASURE THE PROGRESS

Select a green and have the member leader, with a couple friends, count all the ball marks on that green by placing a ball, white tee or irrigation flag in each ball mark. Take a picture of the green, then enlarge the picture and post it on the locker room bulletin boards. Underneath the picture, post the Ball Mark Progress Repair Chart, included in the package, and write in the number of marks for that green and the date. Re-count the marks 60 days later, after members, players and guests have been given their GreenFix Wizard tool and demonstration. So let’s say that 1,800 marks were counted just before opening day. 60 days later 900 marks were counted. 60 days later 300 marks were counted, and so forth. Each day, as your members and players see the progress of the program on the chart , a confidence and pride of ownership develops for the success of the program. As long as your course is committed to the program, you will never have a ball mark problem again, and your course will have changed a culture, FOREVER!
