The KSU Study showed dramatically less “days to recovery” with the short tong GreenFix tools, 4 to 5 weeks for marks fixed with long tong tools versus 2 weeks for marks fixed with the short tong tools and a pushing method. . Ball marks that sit on greens for 4 to 5 weeks have a great likelihood of being “re-fixed,” starting the healing cycle over and over again. Many of these re-fixed marks never go away, compounding the problem. Signs, posters, cart signs and charts provide simple and effective information: long tong tools damage the root zone , short tong tools work on the surface doing much less damage and encouraging faster healing.
